Resumo Apresenta a maneira como a temática do sujeito é pesquisada no âmbito da linha de pesquisa “Usuários, gestão do conhecimento e práticas informacionais” do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciência da Informação da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (PPGCI/UFMG). A temática é tratada a partir de três eixos: práticas informacionais, mediações e leitura, designando as três principais formas por meio das quais a temática vem sendo pesquisada. São apresentados os conceitos centrais e autores que as fundamentam, grupos de pesquisa e dissertações e teses defendidas por cada uma delas. Conclui-se que a especificidade da perspectiva delineada a partir desse conjunto de investigações representa uma contribuição singular para os estudos informacionais destacando o caráter ativo dos sujeitos, ou usuários da informação, a importância do contexto, e a vinculação dos processos informacionais com a constituição das identidades e da própria realidade social.

Abstract This paper presents the way in which the topic of the subject is researched within the research line "Users, knowledge management and information practices" of the Postgraduate Program in Information Science of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (PPGCI / UFMG). The thematic is treated from three axes: information practices, mediations and reading, designating the three main ways through which the subject, or information users, has been researched. It presents the central concepts and authors that support them, research groups and dissertations and theses defended for each of them. It is concluded that the specificity of the perspective delineated from this set of investigations represents a unique contribution to the informational studies highlighting the active character of the subjects, the importance of the context, and the linking of informational processes with the constitution of identities and social reality.

Pretende-se debater as concepções teórico-metodológicas dos estudos de usuários da informação, criticamente, considerando a historicidade, a totalidade e as contradições da sociedade capitalista como constituidoras das práticas infor-macionais dos sujeitos. As atuais abordagens de estudos de usuários da informação, tradicionais e alternativas, mostram-se limitadas por não abarcarem a complexidade dos aspectos que formam os sujeitos e a sua constituição social. Des-consideram a dimensão histórico-social da ação humana, focando somente a ação individual. Entende-se que, para com-preender as práticas informacionais dos sujeitos, é necessário situá-las historicamente, considerando-se que a subjetividade não está descolada da estrutura social. Para a construção de um método ou de uma forma de olhar crítica, sugere-se a adoção de categorias de análise desenvolvidas por Pierre Bourdieu. Apresentam-se as categorias habitus, campo social e capital simbólico para tentar compreender as práticas informacionais construídas no cruzamento entre as relações sociais baseadas na exploração de uma classe sobre outra (e de dominação de um grupo sobre outro) e compreender também a percepção subjetiva dos indivíduos.

The article critically discusses the theoretical and methodological concepts of the studies of information users, considering the historicality, totality and the contradictions of capitalist society as constitutors of the informational practices of users. The current traditional and alternative approaches to information users have been shown to be limited, because they do not cover the complexity of the aspects that shape the users and their social constitution. These theories disregard the historical-social dimension of human action, focusing only on the individual action. One understands that to comprehend the informational practices of subjects, it is necessary to put them into historical perspective, considering that subjectivity is not separated from the social structure. In order to build a method or a critical point of view, the adoption of the categories of analysis developed by Pierre Bourdieu is suggested. The categories habitus, social field and capital are presented in an attempt to understand the informational practices built at the cross-roads between social relationships based on exploitation of one class by another (and the domination of one group by another) and the subjective perceptions of individuals.

O artigo apresenta os resultados de um estudo bibliométrico sobre os volumes que compõem os primeiros quinze anos do periódico Perspectivas em Ciência da Informação, editado pela Escola de Ciência da Informação da UFMG. Foram analisados dados dos autores dos artigos (freqüência e vinculação institucional), das palavras-chave dos artigos e das referências dos artigos (autores citados, periódicos citados, tipologia, idioma e idade da literatura citada). Entre os principais resultados encontrados destacam-se que foram identificados 424 autores, com uma fraca concentração da produção (os 20 mais produtivos respondem por 85 artigos, um pouco menos de um sexto do total). Os autores que mais publicaram foram ou são vinculados à UFMG. Sobre as 4965 referências encontradas, verificou-se que os autores mais citados foram Eco, Choo, Lancaster, Mueller, Drucker e Capurro. O idioma mais freqüente das referências é o português, a tipologia mais encontrada é o livro e o periódico mais citado é a revista Ciência da Informação. Alguns dos resultados encontrados foram confrontados com aqueles relativos a um estudo semelhante sobre a extinta Revista de Escola de Biblioteconomia da UFMG, que veio a ser substituída pelo periódico Perspectivas em Ciência da Informação.

Este estudo, realizado em 2009, objetiva aplicar análises bibliométricas ao periódico Arquivo & Administração, da área de Arquivologia. Elaboraram-se planilhas com os seguintes dados coletados em 21 trabalhos publicados entre 2004 e 2006: autoria, vinculação dos autores, vinculação dos trabalhos às correntes teóricas da Ciência da Informação, caracterização das referências quanto aos autores citados, idioma e ano. Os dados foram analisados à luz de seis correntes teóricas da Ciência da Informação, buscando-se identificar a relação do conhecimento produzido na área de Arquivologia com o da área da Ciência da Informação. A análise dos dados indicou a existência de uma estreita relação do conhecimento produzido na área de Arquivologia com o conhecimento gerado pela área da Ciência da Informação. Tal afirmação apoia-se, primeiro, na categorização das correntes teóricas da Ciência da Informação que puderam ser identificadas nos trabalhos selecionados; e, segundo, na identificação dos autores citados na Ciência da Informação e que também foram identificados nos fascículos do periódico analisado.

This research, carried out in 2009, aims to apply bibliometric analysis to the journal Archive & Administration, from the field of Archive Studies. Spreadsheets were designed with the following data picked out from 21 works published between 2004 and 2006: authorship, authors' commitments, any linking of the publication to the theoretical currents in Information Science, characterization of the references regarding the author quoted, the idiom, and the year of publication. Data were analyzed in the light of six theoretical currents from the Information Science, trying to identify the relationship between the knowledge created in the area of Archive Studies and that generated in the field of Information Science. Data analysis indicated the existence of a close relationship between the kind of knowledge generated in the Information Science area. This statement is based, firstly, on the characterization of the theoretical currents in Information Science identified in the works singled out; and secondly, on the identification of the authors quoted in Information Science, also found in issues of the afore-mentioned journal.

Apresenta-se breve histórico da construção do curso de graduação em Museologia da Escola de Ciência da Informação da UFMG. Destaca-se sua vinculação com o programa geral de reestruturação e ampliação dos cursos de graduação da escola, bem como os esforços para integração deste curso aos cursos de Biblioteconomia e Arquivologia. São apresentadas as referências epistemológicas no campo da Museologia e da Ciência da Informação, questões relativas aos museus como instituições e campos de atuação e o espaço da prática profissional em Museologia. Por fim, apresenta-se alguns elementos do projeto pedagógico do curso, que se inicia no ano de 2010.

The article shows a brief history of the construction of the undergraduate course on Museology of the Information Science School of UFMG. Emphasis is given to the link of the course with the general program of restructuring and amplification of the undergraduate courses of the School as well as the efforts in integrating the new course with the existing Library Studies and Archivology courses. Epistemological references in the field of Museology and Information Science are given and also, questions are raised about museums as institutions and fields and spaces for the professional practice in Museology. Finally, some elements of the pedagogical project of the course (which starts in early 2010) are presented.
